Can I Parent?

Can I Parent?

Many women are afraid when they first become pregnant that they won’t be a good parent. You may not choose parenting for your child, but if you do, there are resources to help you be the best parent you can be. Pregnancy resource centers offer a variety of things that will help you in your journey to become a parent.

Examples of services provided by pregnancy resource centers, either directly or through referrals to other organizations:

  • Labor coaching services
  • Childbirth Classes
  • Breastfeeding Classes
  • Assistance with supplies and clothing
  • Counseling
  • Parenting Classes (for mothers and fathers)
  • Life skills classes

A lot can be learned from people you respect about parenting and child development. Spend time around other parents and children to see what methods they use. Ask plenty of questions and never be afraid to ask for help. It can be overwhelming, but parenting isn’t a test to get everything right, it’s a process of learning what works for you and your child.
