Signs and Symptoms

Want to know if you’re pregnant?

These are some of the signs and symptoms you may experience when first becoming pregnant:

  • Missed Period: A late or abnormal period may be a sign of pregnancy
  • Nausea and Vomiting: This symptom is generally associated with the morning, called “morning sickness”, but in some women it can occur at any time of the day or in reaction to certain sensations, such as smell or movement.
  • Tenderness or Enlargement of the Breasts: Often women experience changes in their breasts when they become pregnant.
  • Increased Urination: As your body’s needs change, you may experience an increase in urination or a change in your normal bodily patterns. (For example, you feel the need to eliminate more often, but don’t eliminate as much as normal.)
  • Fatigue: If you are pregnant, your body is preparing for a great adventure! It may react to these changes by causing you excess fatigue so that you can rest and prepare for what’s ahead.

Any of these signs and symptoms can be caused by other natural responses to various things that happen in the female body. The only way to be sure that you are pregnant is to take a pregnancy test. To schedule a free pregnancy test, contact your local pregnancy resource center (click here).
